Trek through the heart of the Himalayas to the legendary Everest Base Camp, following ancient Sherpa trails beneath the world’s highest peaks. This iconic journey weaves through vibrant mountain villages, prayer-flag-lined passes, and awe-inspiring alpine landscapes, all set against the backdrop of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. With thoughtful acclimatization, expert local guides, and a strong focus on cultural connection and personal growth, this trek is as much an inner journey as it is a physical one. Reaching Base Camp is a powerful milestone—earned step by step, together.


**Please note, these adventures are planned far in advance, and sometimes things come up that are unforeseen or unplanned. With that forethought, know the group will be accompanied on this adventure by Keith, or Michelle, and/or More Adventures Ambassador.

  • Boiled Water during the hike on the trek from the lodges (NOT bottled water)
  • Weight allowance during the trek is recommended to be 10kg (22.5lbs) only

Itinerary

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome to Kathmandu, where vibrant markets, sacred temples, and ornate pagodas pulse with life. After arrival and transfer into the city, enjoy free time to explore nearby streets, shop for last-minute gear, and soak in your first taste of Nepal before receiving details for the adventure ahead.


DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Begin with a short trek orientation before exploring Kathmandu’s cultural treasures, including the revered Pashupatinath Temple and serene Boudhanath Stupa. Overnight in Kathmandu. Breakfast included.


DAY 3 HIGHLIGHTS

Before dawn, drive to Ramechap for a short, unforgettable flight to Lukla. From there, trek through mountain villages, forests, and along the rushing Dudh Koshi River to the peaceful riverside settlement of Phakding.


DAY 4 HIGHLIGHTS

Follow the Dudh Kosi through villages including Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo before entering Sagarmatha National Park. Cross the famed Hillary Suspension Bridge and climb to Namche Bazaar, the lively mountain heart of the Khumbu.

Trek: 7.4 km / 4.6 mi | Elevation gain: 840 m


DAY 5 HIGHLIGHTS

Acclimatize in Namche Bazaar with a scenic hike toward Everest View Hotel, offering sweeping views of the high peaks. Return to explore the town’s markets and cafés.


Overnight: Namche Bazaar | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 6.4 km / 3.6 mi | Elevation gain/loss: 360 m


DAY 6 HIGHLIGHTS

Leave Namche along a high trail with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Cross the Imja River and pass through Tengboche before continuing to Debouche.


Overnight: Debouche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 12 km / 7.4 mi | Elevation gain: 310 m


DAY 7 HIGHLIGHTS

Climb steadily through Pangboche, Somare, and Orsho before crossing the valley and ascending to Dingboche, a broad mountain settlement framed by towering peaks.


Overnight: Dingboche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 8 km / 5 mi | Elevation gain: 660 m


DAY 8 HIGHLIGHTS

Enjoy an acclimatization hike toward Nagarjuna Hill, gaining elevation for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Tawache, and Pumori before returning to Dingboche.


Overnight: Dingboche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 12.5 km / 7.8 mi | Elevation gain/loss: 400–600 m


DAY 9 HIGHLIGHTS

Depart Dingboche for Thukla and the windswept pass beyond. Near the Khumbu Glacier, pass memorials honoring Everest climbers before continuing to the stark, high-altitude outpost of Lobuche.


Overnight: Lobuche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 7.7 km / 4.9 mi | Elevation gain: 520 m


DAY 10 HIGHLIGHTS

Cross rocky moraines from Gorak Shep and follow the Khumbu Glacier to legendary Everest Base Camp. Take in the raw beauty of the glacier and the towering Himalayas before retracing your steps to Gorak Shep.


Overnight: Gorak Shep | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 11.5 km / 7 mi | Elevation gain to EBC: 435 m | Loss to Gorak Shep: 185 m


DAY 11 HIGHLIGHTS

For those feeling strong, climb Kala Patthar for unforgettable close-up views of Everest and the surrounding peaks. Descend through Gorak Shep and continue to Pheriche, where the air grows richer and the journey begins to soften.


Overnight: Pheriche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 11.5 km / 7 mi | Gain: 375 m | Loss: 880 m


DAY 12 HIGHLIGHTS

Descend from Pheriche through Pangboche and forested Debouche to Tengboche, where greener pine forests, good food, Wi-Fi, and a lively atmosphere await.


Overnight: Tengboche | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 8.5 km / 5.2 mi | Elevation loss: 433 m


DAY 13 HIGHLIGHTS

Retrace the trail to Namche Bazaar, descending through forested trails and familiar villages including Phunki Thanga and Sanasa. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon in the lively heart of the Khumbu.


Overnight: Namche Bazaar | Meals: B/L/D

Trek: 9.2 km / 5.7 mi | Elevation loss: 427 m


DAY 14 HIGHLIGHTS

Your final trekking day leads back to Lukla through Monjo, Benkar, and Phakding. With the mountains behind you, enjoy a well-earned afternoon of rest and a celebratory evening.

Trek: 10 km / 6.2 mi | Elevation loss: 640 m


DAY 15 HIGHLIGHTS

Fly from Lukla to Ramechap, then drive through the hills back to Kathmandu. Arrive by late afternoon and reconnect with the vibrant energy of Nepal’s capital.


DAY 16 HIGHLIGHTS

Enjoy a free day in Kathmandu to explore markets, temples, and hidden corners—or rest in case mountain weather delays the next leg of your journey. Breakfast included.
